1.
‘Je ne peux pas attendre.’ - this is NOT FRENCH - I know it looks like
French, but it's not. INSTEAD use ‘J’ai
hate de te voir.’ OR ‘J’attends avec impatience de te revoir.’
2. ‘Je
visite mes grand-parents.’ NO ! INSTEAD use ‘Je rends visite à mes
grand-parents.’ Which means – ‘I pay
a visit to my grandparents.’ BUT you say
‘Je visite les sites touristiques.’
3. ‘S’il vous plait’
when writing/speaking to a friend.
INSTEAD use ‘s’il te plait.’
4.
‘A ma maison’ –
INSTEAD use ‘chez moi.’
5.
REMEMBER : ‘beaucoup
de’, ‘trop de’, ‘peu de’, ‘tant de’ – this is the partitive article, it is
unchanged SO NEVER ‘beaucoup des’ etc
6. ‘Actuellement’ means ‘Right
now’ – it does NOT mean ‘actually’. To
say ‘actually’, use INSTEAD ‘En fait.’
7. Don’t use ‘oui?’ or ‘non?’
in writing. INSTEAD use ‘n’est-ce pas?’
8. NOTE that most of the
AVOIR expressions are followed by ‘de’.
